I'm looking for a pretty good hunting scope with illuminated reticles, what would be options to this ATN scope? This one has 6 cams for the bullet drop compensator, .223-.300WM My budget at this time is around $400

I forgot to ad that the scope will be used on a Voere 30-06
I'd recommend Burris over ATN.
The Burris Fullfield II line offers some darn good hunting scopes, especially with their illuminated ballistic plex.
However, ranging would be up to you.
The ranging reticle on the ATN is similar to the #22 ranging reticle on my Nimrod, and it is easy to use, no math. The #22 is based on the size of a man, where the ATN looks like it is based on the average size of a deer.

Schmidt Rubin,
I admire your choice for a fixed power scope for hunting. If you are dedicated to the ATN, then I'm not going to be able to help you. However, if there are other brands in the running you feel might be out of reach, give me a shout and lets see what I can do. I am committed to serving the members here and will work hard to get you the scope you need, within your price range.

I would stay away from ATN I have heard a lot of problems with them. and as far as optics go they leave a lot to be desired. I would give Scott a call as he can help with prices for optics. There is nothing wrong with a fixed power scope, however when hunting I perfer a variable. something like a 3-9 or a 2-10 Burris is a good choice and I would also say that I would take them over ATN another would be something like a Super Sniper if you want to stay with a fixed power. Hope this helps.

I'm not dead set on a ATN for sure, but I do prefer fixed power for most applications. New England or Pennsylvania hunting doesn't really require a variable power scope, I like to sight it in then I'm good to go. I'll give the IOR scopes a look. I prefer 4-5 fixed power.

Defenitely get with Scott. IOR makes a fixed 6X hunting scope that I think is one of the best buys out there, and it may come close to your budget. In terms of comparisim to the ATN, well there is none. The ATN is not even in the same ball park. Scott takes real good care of Premiuim members so upgrade and you can probably save the cost in the difference with the scope.
