Well, for $30.00, you could always test Nikons Free Replacement policy if you had the Kahunas......

"Has a small dent", kind of like the Titanic had a small leak!
Good one!

Nice. I think it can be fixed though:
1. Take off the lenses from both ends.
2. Use pliers to flatten some of the dent.
3. Gradually ram steel tubes down the hole in increasing size until the tube is straight.
4. You may notice that in doing #2 and #3 above that you have opened up numerous holes in the metal.
5. Apply electrical tape to the outside of the tube.
6. Allow the scope to sit in the heat for a couple of hours (a warm car will work well) until the tape is well "cured".
7. Try to pick up the scope and get tape reside on your hand; be sure to get a good amount of the goop on your hand.
8. Try to wash it off. Try again. Repeat until skin is a nice red color. Start #8 over.
9. Decide it isn't worth it.
10. Sell the scope on e-bay for $29. What you see is what you get.

WOW...I think I'll buy it. It would be an upgrade from my Blazer scope.
If anyone would like to donate to the "Help Tailgate Buy a Real Scope" charity, please mail non-sequential, untraceable C-notes to the following address...

I would have got it if the rifle was part of the deal. I would send it to a buddy of mine in Iraq. They would never see th person from which the round was comming from.

From looking at sellers other auctions, it looks as though he is buying these at salvage... Nikon has likely already replaced these for customers and will have records of the serial numbers. He currently has 5 of these for sale, of course- maybe he is just clumsy???
Two Door
If someone knew what they were doing and could get ahold of a new tube, they could probably have a nice scope.
