I was surprised to have FedEx show up with my new SF Mil Spec today. It's no wonder you can't find them. It's a lot of gun for the money. Can't wait to get to the range with it to see how it shoots.

Eric, those are in the under-$500 range.

The basic GI model lists for $619 and this one lists for $715 with all the extra kit and basic mods. Street is whatever they can get. They are a little hard to get right now.
We're gonna see how this one shoots out of the box at about 08:30 tomorrow when Ft Dix opens up. Picked up a case of ammo this afternoon. Can't wait.

If I get it, my wife will be

and when she's like that I have to

cause she will

my butt. In this case though I might have to take the whuppin

and try to get one of those.
SA is hit or miss around here some shops have one or two whole others have been waiting for their orders for months. I have three now (bought another loaded model one last month). If you find one (and you like it) buy it because they are here today and gone tomorrow.

Put my first 300 rounds through her today of 230gr CCI and the gun performed perfectly. No jams or feed issues, no hammer bite. Accuracy is good enough that the Haji targets I was shooting died multiple times with heart and head shots. I already got a couple mystery nicks in the Parkerizing and the brass leaves it's mark on the rear top of the ejection port so it's not going to stay a beauty queen for long. I forgot how dirty these are to shoot too. Gun oil, grease and powder, black hands. Yup, it doesn't get any better than this.

I wish I had the money to buy the top shelf 1911's but until then here's mine:

I still have a fresh case (almost) of .45 ammo. As soon as I get my scope back on I'm on the way.

Reading this thread and looking at all these pictures makes me really wish I were 21 and had the money to get one. Very very nice pistols.

Its a Griffon not the best shooting gun I own but it looks good
I gave up trying to get the mil-spec model from anybody around here. One dealer said he had only been able to get his hands on 2 of them the whole year. I ended up just buying the plain jane GI model and figure I will get it tweaked at some point. I already know I want to add better sites and maybe open up the ejection port some.

What's the difference between the Mil Spec and the GI Model?
James
The Mil Spec has a different trigger, hammer, and on the ejection port is not lowered or flared. It might not have a full length guide rod either (not sure on that though).

Nov 7 2008, 19:54
The Mil Spec has white dot sights, beveled mag well, lowered and flared ejection port, polished feed ramp, throated barrel, and angled slide serrations. It also comes with 2 sets of grips, 2 mags, belt holster and mag holder.

I just picked it up yesterday

and I'm already in love..
I've always had double stack plastic guns and after handling this fine piece of work I can say they feel like the slide is gonna fall off
This beauty is a Fusion Scout XL in 45ACP with ion bond coating, chain link stippling and stainless accents.
I sold my Sendero to buy a 1911 and was going to buy a loaded Springfield form Shep, sorry Shep, and have him work it over but then I found this beauty, new unfired, for 500 off retail and couldent resist.
Got her all cleaned up and lubed and headed to the range tomorrow to put 150 rounds through her...
Now I just need some VZ grips and a good holster.. Any Ideas?
Here's the gun p***

On holsters and grips, what is your intended use for the pistol?

Thanks James.
Thanks Shep.
I almost bought something cheaper but I would have spent alot more to get it like I wanted. Then after talking to you I was gonna get a loaded Springfield and have you do a little work on it. But then this I found this Fusion for $800. I guess every once in a while I get lucky
In regards to a holster...
Shep you have inspired me to try some competition pistol shooting so eventually I will need to get a nice belt and holster like yours.
But for now I would like to get a starter setup that I will mostly use at the range. As for grips, I have my eyes set on the VZ Aliens in black desert.
What are your thought's?

A Comp Tac Kydex belt holster is a great range and competition holster, and they are very reasonably priced. Get some single mag pouches from Comp Tac as well. I'd get at least 2 for range use, you'll need 5 or 6 for competition use (I use 5).
Eventually, you'll need a CR Speed belt as well.

I'd love to have a Fusion I was all set to order a 4" er-- had a money order for it and everything-- but I found out they are not allowed in Cali. I hate it here.
Very sweet pistol my friend.
Comp-Tec --- I have their Belt, 5 or 6 mag pouches and their holster-- they are freaken sweet and work great! Their customer service sets the bar that everyone else should aspire to. The Sweeties they send just sweet'en the deal

Hunter is storing his PT1911 at my house and it's a sweet gun. At first I was a little nervous about it setting so close to my Wilson

You can not go wrong with Comp-Tac. Not only are they high-quality kydex holsters, but their owner Gregg is a fantastic person who will bend over backwards to make sure you're satisfied (and he knows his shooting on and off the competition field). I've been buying their stuff since it was just Gregg and JB running the shop, now they are the king-of-the-hill...and for good reason. It works.
Their mag pouches are awesome, and I use them for duty as well as for "play." What's great is that the single pouches can be stuck right up next to each other on your belt...and not really take up any more real-estate than a double-pouch. Yet, you have the flexibility of positioning the singles anywhere you want.
If they ever break or are not to your liking...they will do whatever it takes to get it to work for you and have you satisfied.
I've heard mixed opinions about these, I had a Llama Model 11 in a 9mm that was just absolutely fantastic, when I saw this I decided it was a good start anyway, it's a Fire Storm .45 Mini Combat, manufactured under the name Fabrinor Vitoria, the post buy-out name for Llama, 10rd double stack mags.

James
It shoots quite well, the only issue I've found was also present on the Model 11, the ramp doesn't like hollwpoints, but I think that can be fixed, we'll soon see...
Sweet addition to the family!
Very nice but you need to fix the feed ramp in order to feed the hollow points. Shep!
Take care, flea

I was a huge 230grn Golden Saber fan, until I saw some fired at night. A yellow-white fireball, the largest I have ever seen from any .45ACP load. That bumped it from my list of viable carry loads.
My 1st choice now is the 230grn Winchester Ranger SXT, they use flash-retardant powder. At night, out of a 5" 1911, it had a very small, dark orange-red flash. The new Federal HST load performed exceptionally well, also.
