I'm looking for some reliable load data for using 55gr fmj's out of a .308. What I have so far is 41.1-44.0 grains of H322 for 3,800-4000fps. This data is from here
http://jdcomponents.com/loadinfo/loadinfo.html it says the data is computer generated so I'm not sure I want to try it unless I start at around 40 grains of H322. If anyone has any tried and proven data I would appreciate it.
I have handloaded sabots for the 7.5x55 Swiss with good success but the cases are not identical.
i have tried thr reloading data from (
http://www.magnumimports.co.nz/sabots/load-data.htm with some success they are not conducive to accuracy to high of a velocity, and they are not ment for long range they seam to do what ever they want to out at three hundred yards. from what i have read they seem to be more for penatrating armour on light vehicles when shot perpendicular to the surface of the unit. another words 90 degrees to the vehicle which is very hard to do seems how most light armoured vehicles use sloping armour to off set the light configuation of the unit in use to protect against such small arms fire. that being said they are great for close range shots that would be intended for a target of opertunity or importance when plausible deniability is important because they will not find any rifling marks to trace the projectile to a particular rifle
