This could be an interesting round, it's a shortened .308 case but supposedly has the power of the 30-06. We'll see!

I don't believe it's such a new round. I used to shoot IHMSA, and a guy name Boyd Carpenter, who was a director for Virginia back in the 80's designed and with help from Clay Spencer, came up with the 30BC, also 6.5 & 7 BC. From the picture, it's shorter than 308, but longer than 30BR. The 30BC was used in T/C's for production class and the other two in unlimited class. It did very well, but because of the work involved in making brass and it was always a pain in butt to get T/C to do the barrels, people quit fooling with it, they want something simple. Either Clay or Boyd still have the reamer I believe, he could tell you more about it. Also it was made from 243win brass too, that's what the 6.5 & 7 are made from. I think most IHMSA T/C shooters now are shooting 30-30, 7TCU or 30BR for production class. Since there's no patents on wildcat calibers, T/C probably found a reamer or plans when they made it back then and decided on new gun to sell.

A shorter case than the .308 is the .300 Savage, it's been around for a long time.

True, but the .300 Savage doesn't have the same ballistics as the proposed .30 T/C.

Everyone thought the 357 Sig was something new when it came out but the 7.62x25 Tokarev was around during WW2.
