Best single stage press?
to load 308 WIN . 300 WIN MAG ????
thanks guys
You can't go wrong with a plain old Rockchucker, more than adaquate and will outlast you. Redding also makes a very nice single stage press.
At least as important as the press are quality dies. Whether inexpensive Lees or top of the line Reddings, check runout on loaded rounds to insure a sloppy die didn't slip past quality control (less likely with the Reddings). An occassional high runout number would indicate a bad piece of brass, while consistant high runout would indicate a problem with the die. I've been able to load ammunition on a very inexpensive Lee press that consistantly ran out at under .003", usually better.
Sounds like heresy but a little applied experience goes a long way and doesn't cost much (provided you can learn from the mistakes of others before you repeat the same mistakes yourself).
