The owner of a local gun store got together with a retired Army Colonel and it looks like this is going to happen at the abandoned Army 1000 yard range on Camp Edwards. I have no info about when it's going to be open but I'm psyched because I only live 3 miles from there I'll add updates as I get them.

Hm, since the topic is 1,000 yard ranges I'll mention I've moved to Burns Lake BC where we have the only public 1,000 yard range in BC.

We're having a 1,000 yard shoot in early May. If there's any interest I'll post more info. I'm entering the " Hunter Class" basically a standard hunting rifle<10lb with factory ammo. I've stocked up on 150 gr Sierra boatails and I've ordered 20 MOA inserts and bases from Burris for my 270 Sako. There is also the light and heavy varmit classes both of these classes allow the use of handloads. Some of you southern boys might like the trip up here combining the shoot with some fishing. The ice should be recently off the lakes by then. An interesting stat: within 100 miles of Burns Lake are 3,000k of lake shore and the lakes are full of trout.
