I just picked up a new Leupold scope with M3 BDC knobs for 62gr bullets on my Remington LTR.

Phessor, in my opinion using other loads kinda negates the purpose of having a custom BDC. If you're trying to see what load your rifle likes best then fine. After you've determined that, then go to Kenton Industries and have them make you a BDC for that particular load, they run about $50.
I guess to answer your question more specifically... the answer is yes you can use it. How much deviation you'll have will be dependant on how much you go up or down from the 62gr and the specific powder charge.

Bullet drop turrets are really only useful out to 600, you'll still need to keep a log book with temp/altitude/humidity for longer shots. On some days your 600 may be dead on the 6 mark, on another day it may be 600 +2.
If the bullet has the same BC as the 62 grain FMJ and is launched at the same speed, then the turrets will work. However, the farther off the velocity or BC the farther off the turret. Since bullet weight is a huge factor in determining BC, your best bet is to either live with 62 grain ammo or get a custom turret as stated above.

Contact Leupold and see what cams are available for that scope.
Personally, I would go with a custom setup from Kenton Industries that has your specific dope on 'em:

For the Kenton's, you can get all your actual dope, send it to them, and they will laser engrave your knobs to your exact dope.

Jimro is right on I think. A BDC is good for one load, in one set of conditions. If you are going to have to keep a log anyway, you might as just as well keep a good one and use the comeups/holdovers instead of relying on a cam.

That is what I was thinking. But this is my first scope with BDC so I wanted to ask. And thank you for the advise. I just ordered a new knob from Kenton!
