Has anyone tried these tactical rests with a video tripod?

Not yet, but if you want to kick up the $1000 for the rest and bipod, ship it out to me, I'll be glad to test it out for you.

That unit is an interesting concept, but I can think of lots of things I would rather spend the $$$ on. There are cheaper and better ways to benchrest & it's too cumbersome and slow to set up to be useful in the field. About the only use I can see for it is a LEO sniper call-out. And Gunner is totally correct... without a high-dollar tripod, it would worse than useless. I wonder what led to its development?

Schmidt R,
I've not used the rest you're asking about; but I bought one of his mini rests; it's good and the fellow was easy to deal with.
...also, I think he rather hides his light under a bushel, the tripod rest you've linked to is a development of a rest he marketed a few years back; at that time it was bought in bulk by Accuracy International and marketed by them for CT use (its NSN was (is) 1005-99-264-5398 ('99' indicates a Brit NSN)) ....he doesn't even make mention of the fact!

I got to play with one of those once, years ago. Not sure if it was the same company, but it was the same (or similar) product.
It worked really well, but I was hard-pressed to come up with a use for it other than LE and some military.
LOTS better personal uses for $1000, but I did try to talk my department into buying one for the team!
