Opions,exp with the following?
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=201811
Would like to try and learn the mil dot ,this seems a fair price to start.
Thanks
Jimro
Well....I'd spend a little more and get a SS 10X if I were going to learn to use a mildot reticle. I know folks who have had great luck with Simmons, but they move their operation around too much for me to trust their products for any consistancy. I'm sure that you could get a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x with mildot reticle for only a little bit more than the Simmons, and it's been considered a good scope to begin with.

However, I started off on a Tasco 2.5-10x40 Varmit scope and it stood up to plenty of abuse until I could afford a better scope, and it's still kicking on my younger brothers rifle. Horrible optical quality compared to IOR or my Nimrod, but good enough for learning. Cheap scopes are a gamble, and it's your money, but I'd buy a SS because it's a sure thing.

It will do you know good at all to learn mil-dots not knowing if the dots in the scope are subtended correctly. The chance of that being true in a $99.00 scope is slim to not at all. The Super Sniper is built to a mil spec, and the mil dots subtend properly. At least if you use that scope you will be learning with the correct mil-dots. I would spend the extra bucks and go with the SS.

Thanks ,almost my thoughts as well, and am aware of the mildot not being built properly on cheap scopes.
I am betting the SS is the Super sniper.
I was attempting to e mail simmons or sportsman guide with these questions on the mil dot.
Will keep my eyes open on this one and will wait on the purchase.

Hey Brother,
If you're looking for a cheap way to learn mildots, try the Shooter Ready Program . Save your money and buy good glass when you can finally afford it. Otherwise, you're just throwing money away...
Respectfully,
