Wondering what the best factory loaded ammo is in 30-06 for longest range shooting. I believe federal makes a 180gr round he(high energy) round coming out at 2880 fps. Is this a good round, btw? All specs look as if it is. (IMG:http://www.snipersparadise.com/sniperchat/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I don't know anything about precision shooting a .30-06 so I can't recommend anything to you. However, I know for fact that Federal makes their Gold Medal Match for .30-06 because I've seen it on the shelf at Wideners and it's also available from their online store. I don't know what gr the bullets are. Check it out. If Wideners has it, then I am certain that cmshoot and Dixie Ammo Dump can get it for you and probably save you some money. Give em a yell.

It seems like I read a long time ago that a 30-06 shooting a 200 grn bullet held some sort of accuracy record for a long time. Anybody know the details on this round, rifle, and shooter?

Hornady makes 165 grain Interbond Light Magnum Man. Number 85159 that might be worth trying in a bolt rifle. Good bullet design and lots of power. Let us know what you find out.

Good luck

Remington Core-Lokt is great ammunition. I've had good accuracy with 168gr and even better accuracy with 155gr over 300yds.
