  • Cord Locks and AD's

Just got back from re-qual and our instructor who works with many different agencies in the northeast mentioned over the course of the winter that he had two AD's in his various classes due to jacket cord locks getting caught in the trigger guard while re-holstering. Apparently many of the new zip up fleece's have shock cord sewn along the bottom of the jacket with a cord lock to assist in drawing the jacket against ones waist. These locks in many of the jackets are found on the right hand side along the seam of your pants and during a course fire they are getting caught and dragged into the holster finding there way into the trigger guards. He is recommending that if you have a jacket like this you either cut off the cord lock or tape it to the inside of the garment....

It's knowing that when I get up in the morning and my feet hit the floor, the Devil says, "Shit! He's awake!"

Shortly before World War I, the German Kaiser was the guest of the Swiss government to observe military maneuvers. The Kaiser asked a Swiss militiaman: "You are 500,000 and you shoot well, but if we attack with 1,000,000 men what will you do?" The soldier replied: "We will shoot twice and go home."
