It's knowing that when I get up in the morning and my feet hit the floor, the Devil says, "Shit! He's awake!"

Shortly before World War I, the German Kaiser was the guest of the Swiss government to observe military maneuvers. The Kaiser asked a Swiss militiaman: "You are 500,000 and you shoot well, but if we attack with 1,000,000 men what will you do?" The soldier replied: "We will shoot twice and go home."

Well crap. I really like those sights too. Well, crap.

I used EOTechs in Iraq and Afghanistan and had no problems.
However, in view of all the problems reported in the last 10 years, I've switched over to the Aimpoint T-1 just for the reliability.

Well, as many as I have, I'm not switching them all out unless they die. Then we'll see. Honestly, I like the Aimpoint's battery life, I just really really like the reticle in the EOTech.

I've been seeing issues with Eotechs since they first saw widespread use in the late 1990's. New models would hit the market, they would have new problems.

It's not uncommon for me to see students with Eotech problems in my courses. Doesn't happen all the time, but not uncommon. On the other hand, never seen an Aimpoint issue in a class. Keep in mind, I see a few thousand red dot optics a year.

Eotech changed their owner's manual and set up a fund for “an aggregate liability of $26 million in anticipation of a settlement related to a product specification matter regarding a holographic weapon sight product in the Warrior Systems sector of the Electronic Systems segment.”
