Thanks guys for the prayers. Long story short, I have NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) that has turned into cirrhosis. Drs say its genetic as I've never had high cholesterol or anything. Came out of nowhere. Got up to go to work on Mothers day, started vomiting blood clots. Wife talked me into going to hospital. Next thing I know, I'm in the ICU with a surgical team enroute. Had tore my esophagus vomiting. Once they stopped the bleeding, they discovered I had NAFLD and my liver had stopped producing platelets hence I friggin bleed easy now. Have several complications of NAFLD. Have been in the hospital twice since mothers day, for a week each time. Last time I had surgery to stop 6 more tears in my esophagus and I needed 2 pints of blood the first time, and 3 the second. Been a patrol deputy for 24 years and now the drs are retiring me cause I'm a bleed risk. I'm going to UAB (university Alabama Birmingham) soon to get on a transplant list. Again thanks for the prayers. Rudy aka donut slayer.

Thanks guys for the well wishes. I'm out of the hospital now. I had another blood transfusion. I've had 6 pints of blood in the last 2 months. They found 2 more bleeders, but couldn't fix them as when they tried, I woke up from the amystesia and "became combative" according to the dr's report. Ya think? Woke up during the procedure with a garden hose shoved down your throut, I think combative would be a accurate description. They finally knocked me out for good the next day and the NEW doctor said there was too much swelling and irritation to my esophagus to fix the problem. Got to go back on the 24th to do it again. They pumped enough stuff in me though the bleeding stopped, for now. I had 3 IV's, 1 in each arm at rhe elbow and 1 in my shoulder. The blew out 2 veins sometime during the week so I had to have a pic line put in. It runs from my bicep to my heart. That will be taken out after the 24th procedure. Still waiting on UAB to call to see about a transplant. Not getting to the shooting range is killing me.
