    UPDATE 5 APRIL 2016, 1505 KST TUESDAY;

    60F. and very sunny today in Paju, a fine spring day on the frontline. We returned to Paju in time for stand to Monday morning and spent the day at the range with the crew checking out some new weapons and gear for us in our new DA role, a full break in was performed LOL! Nice to be working for folks who spare no expense if you say you need/want it. Also added new Marathon GSARs to all operators writs, basically a Rolex automatic movement in a very hardened SS case and band with H3 Tritium dials, very nice lol. And NO batteries needed, woohoo! Look good enough to wear with your tux!

      Huh, it's warmer there than in central NC today!
      I like the Marathon line, but they're a bit thick and bulky. I wear a custom Seiko.

        Nice. Between the watches and women you are going to get me killed.

          Hi John;

          The Marathons are totally bullet proof, cases are MACHINED SOLID STAINLESS STEEL as are the bands, crystals are sapphire no man made stuff and very thick. The watch can go to 1000 feet in the sea and not hiccup. And best of all...ta da!...THEY ARE ISSUE NSN bearing items. Right at the moment with "The imperial Japanese Navy" sitting in Subic Bay Japanese watches are not popular in Asia, could say hated to be mild. these are Swiss made.

          Marathons issued, from left to right 1) Navigator a quartz (battery) with tritium markings a basic filed type watch 2) JSAR a quartz (battery) with "Maraglo" dial (needs charging but no radioactive trace) 3) GSAR, an automatic movement (no battery needed, it winds itself) with tritium dial. This is top of the linbe, automatics are the best period.
          1.JPG

          Yes some are thick, they are supposed to be. On the left the JSAR quartz is the thickest, it's crystal is a full 22mm thick, it is much easier to use with gloves...yes the bezels are really for use not just to look good. On the right is the GSAR abit more thinner but just as strong as the JSAR with the advantage of the premium automatic movement.

          These are definitely professional grade watches, strong and reliable in all ways, not dressed up civilian watches made for fashion. each link in the band is machined and connected with machined double headed screws. The band also has an extension that opens to allow wearing over clothing. We gave the GSARs as an award for professionalism in the field, no medals here. We like them, and wear them daily even in dress civvies.
