    • BREN LMG, sights are off set to the left because of vertical magazine. barrel change lever is also on left, minor but a pain. Both used better by right handed gunner.

      • Yep! Go ahead with a new question.
        www.precision-applications.com

It's knowing that when I get up in the morning and my feet hit the floor, the Devil says, "Shit! He's awake!"

Shortly before World War I, the German Kaiser was the guest of the Swiss government to observe military maneuvers. The Kaiser asked a Swiss militiaman: "You are 500,000 and you shoot well, but if we attack with 1,000,000 men what will you do?" The soldier replied: "We will shoot twice and go home."

          • Dredging the cobwebs from my perusals of W.H.B. Smiths "Small Arms of the World" when I was a kid, I'm gonna guess the Australian Owen 9mm subgun.
The Owen had a wood fixed stock, which was a feature borrowed from the Israeli Uzi.

                  • The Austen, which stood for Australian Sten.

Adopted features from the German MP-40.

                    1. Separate pistol grips

                    2. Austen was select-fire (had a semi-auto setting)

                    3. Had a separate firing pin, not a fixed pin in the bolt face

                    • Close enough Shep. main features adopted were the telescoping tube protecting the separate firing pin and operating spring, the MP38 folding stock and MP38 grips. Both the Austen and the original STEN are selective fire. The best feature was the folding butt that made the weapon very compact for special operations use.
